Dr. Maynard grew up on a small farm in Florida and knew from the age of 10 that she was going to be a veterinarian. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Florida in 1987 and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She was then selected for a Small Animal Medical and Surgical Internship at Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut in West Hartford. She fell in love with the northeast and decided not to return to Florida. After her internship she settled into small animal practice in Fairfield County. In 2004 she married and relocated to beautiful Norfolk, CT. Litchfield Hills Mobile Veterinary Clinic opened June of that year. But after 7 years the practice reached maximum capacity and she decided to take the leap to a traditional stationary practice. Dr. Kim lives in Norfolk with her husband Andrew, their son, Kyle and daughter, Alex. Her house is also home to 2 cats, 2 Australian Cattle Dogs, and a Great Pyrenees. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking and hiking.
